    Community Services Boards

    A Community Services Board, also known as a Behavioral Health Authority in some communities (CSB/BHA), is a local provider of supports to individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders and intellectual disabilities (ID). CSBs/BHAs provide support coordination/case management for individuals who wish to transition from an institution to the community using the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Waiver.

  • Community Services Boards provide an array of emergency, local inpatient, outpatient, case management, day support, employment, residential, and wellness and prevention services to adults with serious mental illnesses, children who have or are at risk of serious emotional disturbance, individuals with intellectual disability or who are receiving Medicaid developmental disability waiver services, or individuals with substance use disorders.
