Conduct a Gaps Analysis or Benefits Review

Does your company offer the benefits employees need and want most: flexible scheduling, telecommuting, help finding services, assistance with legal, financial and insurance issues, and information on health and aging?

Provide Information Resources

Employees can be afraid to ask for help. Provide access to resources they can use on their own—from a web site that lets them study your employee benefits plan to information on SeniorNavigator.org, a free, comprehensive resource on senior aging and a link to local services. You can also refer them to the Employed Caregiver page on this site for additional resources.

Be repetitive. Most employees don’t anticipate having to provide care, so send a “refresher” memo several times a year, recapping your company’s benefits. Also consider having your Human Resources department send E-QUICKTIPS to employees as a quiet reminder that your company is caregiver-friendly.
